Dr Janet Evans has been a family doctor since 1998 and is currently Medical Director at CGB Medical in Kelowna, BC. She completed her BSc in Pharmacy and MD at the University of Alberta.

She is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Rutland Community Clinic Society.

Janet has been active in the Central Okanagan Division of Family Practice since 2016, when she helped pilot the nurse-in-practice initiative and participated in the development of the CODFP Primary Care Network service plan and continues to mentor physicians on team-based care.

Janet is passionate about billing education, team-based care, and quality improvement in community primary care. She currently serves as the Chair of the Patterns of Practice Committee with Doctors of BC since 2020 (and committee member since 2016), a Doctors of BC appointed member of the Family Practice Services Committee (FPSC) Caucus since September 2022, and a member of the Representative Assembly of the Doctors of BC since June 2023.

Through her experience opening a primary care office to encourage a healthy community at CGB Medical, she has been grateful to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Ministry of Health to create Rutland Community Clinic, where underserved communities in Rutland can get high quality healthcare and develop trust in the healthcare system while Clinic makes a positive impact on the lives of its’ patients.
