Kiarra is a Kinesiologist, personal trainer, and yoga instructor. She has been in the health and fitness industry for over 15 years, and believes that exercise is medicine – from injury rehabilitation, to athletic performance, to activities of daily living – everyone needs to move!

She has two corgi’s who are everything to her... She loves training, walking, and spending time with them. She also lift weights regularly, and loves to teach and attend yoga and meditation classes. Kiarra has a creative side as well, where she likes to create art out of old wood, make hand-made cards and do calligraphy, cook and bake. She also has two step-sons who keep me very busy!

As a kinesiologist, Kiarra is whole-body movement focused, aiming to create functional movement and eliminate compensatory patterns to allow the body to move effectively and without pain. When we have an injury or dysfunction, whether it be in the feet, the hips, the shoulders; our body is intelligent – it adapts to that change. This adaptation is necessary to negate the feelings of pain or discomfort in the moment, but this can only be held for so long. When we begin to change the way we move naturally, it creates a long line of movement discrepancies that initiate a pain response not only in the injured tissues, but also the ones above and below it, and above and below that, and so on.

Kiarra’s goal is to target the source, eliminate the dysfunction, and allow the body to move freely again. Unfortunately, this is not always a smooth or time conscious process. Our bodies are malleable, but when a habit has been engrained within our movements for years and years, it takes much of that time to bring it back to as close to neutral as we can. We can find the most positive impacts being those incorporated into everyday life, such as resetting your workstation, your bed, your shoes, your posture, and most importantly your awareness, to set the stage for grand changes as you move forward.
