Marile is Family Physician with over 13 years of experience working in rural underserved communities in South Africa and British Columbia. During her 9 years working in Northern BC, she was actively collaborating with physicians, the Primary Care Society, First Nations Partners and the Northern Health Authority in developing a team-based care model in Fort St James, BC. She believes that it is possible to provide holistic, accessible healthcare when working together with community partners to achieve the common goal of serving our communities’ health needs. She is currently providing virtual care services as part of the Real Time Virtual Services (RTVS) for First Nations Health Authority in BC.

Marile holds a Coaching Certification from Erickson College which has been very supportive in expanding her awareness of different world views and has facilitated effective communication skills to help create spaces of psychological safety. She works hard on self- and situational awareness and believes in promoting provider health and wellness. Her area of interest is Women’s Health and is excited to facilitate a Women’s Wellness Program at the Rutland Community Clinic. Marile believes there is much to do regarding Women’s Health and Wellness in the Okanagan and has visions of creating more spaces for women to access healthcare in the future.
