Milt is a retired family doctor. He attended the University of Calgary Medical School followed by postgraduate training in New Zealand. He had an active family practice in Kelowna for over 30 years.
Milt served on the board of the Central Okanagan Division of Family Practice. He has been involved in Recruitment & Retention, G.P. for Me, Fetch, and Shared Care.
He has been the physician lead for Pathways plus Recruitment & Retention since inception. He is a founding member and the cochair of IPRR, the FPSC regional recruitment organization in the IHA region.
Milt is a board member of FOSS, an organization that partners with B.C. Parks and collaborates with the City of Kelowna, Central Okanagan Regional District and various provincial ministries. Milt leads a crew of 56 volunteers in trail maintenance and together they contribute over 2000 volunteer hours per year. They work in the 2 local provincial parks and the KVR trestles.
Present interests include hockey, backcountry skiing, hiking, riding his quarter horse and helping run a farm. The joy in his life is his understanding wife, Jane. Taking his extended family of 15 into the backcountry brings him eternal happiness.
Milt has a passion for equitable access to healthcare in British Columbia. He is a founding board member of the Rutland Community Clinic.
