Renée comes to the Executive Director role from a background in nursing. She graduated from the University of Victoria in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and then from the University of British Columbia in 2018 with a Master of Science in Nursing, focussing her studies on gerontology and education. Renée’s career has been wide ranging in experiences, with positions in both the public and private health sectors, education, licensing and leadership. Renée Is passionate about equality and creating sustainable change. She understands that by helping to build up our community and providing equitable health and social care for the most vulnerable among us, we can achieve the best outcomes for all.
Born in the northern Secwépmec territory of BC, Renée is part of a large and blended Indigenous and settler family. She is committed to allyship with Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island, and continues to prioritize her learning and advocacy throughout both her professional and personal endeavours. Renée is also part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. She and her wife are grateful to be raising their family in the Syilx territory of West Kelowna, where they enjoy exploring the parks, beaches, art and culture that this beautiful land offers.
